About IGA Dromana

IGA (Independent Grocers of Australia) is a large grocery retailer that is owned by Metcash but individual stores are owned independently. There are over 200 stores located in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT.

Located in the shopping centre district of Dromana, a beach side location always presents more challenges due to the corrosive mixed environment of ocean, sand and salt.

Height Safety Requirement

The IGA in Dromana was undergoing an extensive renovation to bring it to the same standard as its flagship stores. To ensure safe roof access for maintenance of HVAC systems on the extensive roof, the design of the height safety system had to balance safe and practical roof access but also budget constraints of a retail and FMCG business running small margins.
